Mission Statement
Little Esko Lutheran Preschool is committed to providing a licensed preschool program that promotes strong school readiness skills for children ages 3 to 5.  Each child will be encouraged to grow in spirit, mind and body through God's grace and the love of Jesus.

Preparing children for a lifetime of learning in school and beyond.

LELP Offers More Than Skill-Readiness

Little Esko Lutheran Preschool provides a Christ-centered preschool experience.  We partner with parents to plant the seed of God's love in each child.

LELP staff, with the support of the St. Matthews congregation, works as a team to provide a Christian education.  LELP seeks to serve the whole child and family (spirit, mind and body).

Our desire is to adhere to Ephesians 6:4:  Fathers, don’t stir up anger in your children, but bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

LELP History

Little Esko Preschool was founded by Barbara Hanson and Sandy Peterson in 1974.  When the preschool relocated to St. Matthews Lutheran Church in 2005, it was renamed Little Eskomo Lutheran Preschool (LELP).  In 2021, the preschool was renamed Little Esko Lutheran Preschool and its logo was updated to better reflect the faith-based focus.

For almost 50 years, the preschool has received support from the families whose children attended LELP,  and church and community members.  LELP's faith-based curriculum and its caring teachers are largely responsible for making LELP the strong program that it is today.

My Savior Lives Northland taped the 2023 Christmas program to use clips for its Christmas Day broadcast.  You can view the taped program by visiting this link:  https://vimeo.com/user82955593.
